Located about a half mile from the end of Fallen Leaf Lake, these falls carry water from the Desolation Wilderness. Over the Memorial Day weekend, when I took this picture, the roar of the falls was so loud, you had to shout to be heard. The spray ? backlit by the afternoon sun ? created a dramatic effect.
