Havasu Creek on the Grand Canyon
Gold! Gold! That is what I thought as I was hiking down from the large patio near where Havasu Creek joins the Colorado River. The thin stream of water, maybe two inches deep, reflected the gold walls of the Canyon. The Grand Canyon is known for magnificent vistas, but small scenes can be just as powerful, as evidenced by the feeling created by the muted lavender of the rocks and the gold of the walls reflected in the stream.
